A €170k EC funded project has been recently launched to study innovation performance and policy in Russia and Ukraine.

Led by Assystem UK, the 15 month BRUIT project will be the first time that innovation in Russia and Ukraine has been benchmarked using the EC’s TrendChart methodology.

In late November, Assystem UK held a first training session about TrendChart with its Russian and Ukrainian research partners – IMEMO, ISISEP, STEPS and UFISA - in Moscow. Come May 2007, the partners will present TrendChart country reports and European Innovation Scoreboard indicators for the two countries.

Following analysis of the data, several innovation policy development workshops will be organised with researchers and policy makers in the second half of 2007 to tackle identified gaps in innovation performance.
